Read with discernment; the Apostle Jude quotes 1 Enoch and Paul knew this material, but inclusion here is for study, not doctrine.

1(44.1) When Seth and his mother reached Adam, they said to him [III all that had been done on the way, and said] that the beast, the serpent, had bitten Seth.

2(44.2) Adam said to Eve: "What have you done? You have brought on us a great affliction, fault and sin unto all our generations.

3(44.3) What you have done will be passed on to your children after my death, for those who arise from us will not have all they need from their labors, but will be lacking. They will curse us, saying:

4(44.4) "Our parents, who were from the beginning, brought all these evils on us.'" Hearing this, Eve began to weep and moan. [III "Legend of the wood of the Cross"]

Public-domain text (R.H. Charles 1913 and equivalents). These works are not canonical, but several were widely read in antiquity and one (1 Enoch) is quoted by name in Jude 1:14–15. Useful for understanding the doctrinal landscape from which the apostles and earliest saints taught.
